A Day at the Circus Family Session | Marietta, Georgia

Saturday I joined the Mitchell Family at the Yaarab Shrine Circus & Fair in Marietta, Georgia for a couple hours of fun and photos. It was easily one of my favorite sessions ever and I left feeling incredibly inspired. Don't you love when that happens? I can't bring myself to narrow down these session peeks so I'm sharing all of my favorites. I apologize if my blog is slow to load because it's so darn image heavy but I promise it will be worth it!

Baby J is about 3 weeks younger than my Benjamin and absolutely delicious - she's so sweet! She was pretty sleepy during their session and too busy taking everything in when her eyes were open to give me any smiles. That's ok, though. She's still adorable!
I've been dying to have a family session at the circus ever since my family's trip to the Atlanta Fair and was thrilled when the Mitchell's agreed to my idea! I faced a couple of fears that day. One being the clowns (which I don't like at all!) that we saw and they posed with a couple of times and the other being heights. It seems like every year I get more and more afraid and it's been years since I went on the Ferris Wheel. Talk about panic attack inducing. When I saw how cool this Ferris Wheel was I knew I had to photograph them on it. Which naturally meant that I had to ride it too. The plan was for me to ride in the car before them so I could get better photos of them in the car but the conductors said they didn't allow solo riders (Dang it. I should have asked some kid to join me!) so they had to hop in the same one. It was hard to get good shots of the three of them with a giant pole between us but I'm really happy with these! As you can see it was really cloudy and threatening rain but thankfully it held out until well after their session.
I thought it was so cute when Baby J fell asleep in her mom's arms not even to be roused by the toy her daddy won playing games. Babies pick the best times to sleep, don't they? Wendy and Brian were one seriously awesome couple to work with. Not only are they super cute but fun too! I barely had to suggest an idea or location and they were all over it. This is my ideal type of session! I would much prefer to follow clients around and capture them doing something or being together. Your love shows so much more when it's spontaneous and honest. Don't they look so happy?
If you are interested in scheduling your own child or family session this Spring/Summer I still have several openings available. Below are my California travel dates. We leave one week from today! Email me with inquiries. Once we get back to Georgia that first week of June I'm booked solid but am available for sessions and events after June 10th! I look forward to working with you!
