It has been a fun and jam packed couple of weeks! My mom was in town for much of it and just flew home yesterday. It was so great having her here and we miss her already! My mother in law was here for a few of the days and, along with my mom and grandma, was able to join us for a lunchdate with some of our friends from the mom's group I'm in. On Saturday (the 10th) we went to our friend, Gavin's, first birthday party and then afterward my mom babysat while Ben and I went out for his birthday. It was our first date without baby since Benjamin was born and much needed! We went to Ben's favorite restaurant, Magianno's, which is becoming a tradition for us for special events. We ate there last year for his birthday and also for our wedding dinner back in February.
Benjamin and I had another playdate yesterday with some of our friends at the mall. It was the first time I took him to the little play area and he seemed to like it. He's been a little sick for the last week with many symptoms I'm chalking up to teething. He's currently working on his molars. Thankfully, he only had a fever for a couple of days. His sleep (or lack thereof) is out of control and his nose is a drippy faucet but his spirits are good considering. Last night before bed he stood unassisted for the first time for a good five seconds and then took two quick steps to me! I'm so glad that Ben was there to witness it too! We were both so excited!!
We have another busy weekend ahead of us but I'm looking forward to it. I hope you have a great one, too!
