Kentucky Derby Party in Buckhead | Atlanta, Georgia

Yesterday was the 139th Kentucky Derby. I have to be honest and say that I had never even seen a horse race before yesterday! I'd always loved the idea of the races - so Southern and full of tradition. I love the big hats and fashion, of course. I was so excited when I was asked to help set up for this Housewarming/Derby party and then photograph it! I loved all the read roses and silver - so classy.
They even had the official Kentucky Derby backdrop for red carpet photos of their guests. How cool is that?! Here are their sweet girls:
Sitting on the table was a framed photo of the hostess' grandparents at Churchill Downs in 1943. I thought that was such a great touch.
Mint Juleps are the official drink of the Derby so it was only fitting that they have a Mint Julep bar. Genius! I had never tasted on before so one of the guests made me one. *cough* It was okay. Haha.
It was a beautiful evening with lots of laughs, fun fashion, and good times. I was thrilled to be a part of it! I hope you like these peeks!
