Hello friends! I mentioned in March that my blog would be going "back to normal" soon with posts about more than my latest projects but then a huge surprise resulted in a temporary change of plans. It's a couple weeks earlier than I originally planned to make this announcement but I've changed my mind and didn't want to wait any longer to share! If you've been following me for a while (I'm talking years!) you know that I tried for years to have a baby with my [now] ex husband. I was finally diagnosed with PCOS January 2009 and told that it would more than likely take fertility treatment to ever have children.
The following couple of years consisted of a wide range of trials, tribulations, and major heartbreak. And then in July 2011 I decided to move across the country to Atlanta, Georgia and it was the best decision I've ever made for myself. The healing and the growth in me in the last 9 months has been nothing short of a miracle. I've said it before but I've felt completely at peace with myself here. It was a much needed fresh start and while I have faced trials, everything seems to just work itself out. I'm happy.
And guess what?! I'm PREGNANT! I found out right after my 29th birthday celebration that I am expecting this November! It came as such a surprise and the circumstances are not ideal, but you know what? I'm thrilled! My family is very supportive and excited too! It's been really hard to keep it under wraps!!! :)
Shortly after finding out the good news, my very good friend, Heather, sent me THE MOST BEAUTIFUL pregnancy/baby journal! (I will share it more of it in a few days.) Upon receiving it, I immediately created this page of my first peek at baby. It's from my ultrasound at 6 weeks. The last mini book I shared was actually created after I did this page because I was inspired by the papers but wasn't ready to share this! The papers are from Heidi Swapp's "Sugar Chic" line - perfect for baby! I used various lace ribbons and tidbits as embellishments. For a bold pop of color I stamped and embossed the purple butterfly from Sweet Stamp Shop's Happy Bugs and adhered it to the page with foam squares. Love! Here are the details:
Does this mean I can post it now???? xoxoxo
